Tasks and Responsibilities

The Artist Producer of Single Thread’s new project, Faewild: A Forest Immersive, will fulfill both artistic and logistical responsibilities involved in the development of a new immersive theatre production.

Their logistical duties will include:

• Meet and maintain Single Thread’s relationships with organizational and artistic partners;

• Conduct pre-production activities with partners; liaise with contacts at the City of Burnaby and other municipal groups;

• Lead the process of completing multiple provincial arts grants.

In addition, the Artist Producer will be an active artistic collaborator in the upcoming research and development workshop of Faewild. Under the guidance of the Director/Artistic Lead, the Artist Producer will:

• Conduct artistic research;

• Participate in weekly rehearsals as performer/artistic collaborator;

• Develop initial prop and costume designs;

• Contribute to devising and development throughout the workshopping period;

• Other artistic responsibilities as required.

Experience

Ideal candidates will have previous experience in:

• Producing

• Grant writing

• Creation/performance in immersive theatre

• Physical theatre performance

• Devising and theatrical creation

Education

• College diploma or bachelor’s degree in theatre/performance or equivalent experience.

This is a Canada Summer Jobs position, only candidates between the ages of 15-30 can be considered for these positions. You must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
